On July 1, 1990, Radio Mecklenburg-Vorpommern went on the air with the
nationwide programs RMV 1 and RMV 2 (holiday wave) and with Rostock as the main
radio station;
in the winter half-year ran on the frequencies of the holiday wave NDR 2.
After the founding of a Northeast German Broadcasting Corporation (NORA) for
Berlin, Brandenburg and Mecklenburg-West Pomerania failed in mid-1991,[11] the
four broadcasting locations in Mecklenburg-West Pomerania were merged into NDR in early 1992;
the state radio station was set up in Schwerin
